A-Z promising quotes: Bravery

Living with multiple sclerosis takes a ton of courage, especially when the MonSter acts up.

American humorist and author Mark Twain (1835-1910), whose real name was Samuel L. Clemons, was not an MSer. He did, however, live with multiple health issues. He was born prematurely, was sickly as a child, and endured hosts of medical and pseudo-medical treatments.

But Mark Twain had a quirky way of looking at life with humor and down-home practicality that was both brusque and bold. Readers of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Innocents Abroad perennially remark along such lines.

Consider what Mark Twain said about bravery.

“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.”
(Mark Twain)

I wanna try to remember that – the next time the MS MonSter comes barking at me.
