Pins and Needles - Facing MS symptoms from A to Z

Anyone remember this old song, “Needles and Pins”? Here’s The Searchers’ version from 1964:

OK, that was fun for a moment. But that’s not the sort of pins and needles that come with multiple sclerosis. Those needles and pins are no fun at all. They’re downright irritating.

These are the electric, prickly, tingling pains that crop up in various body parts. Maybe they go away after a while. Maybe they stick around and keep on zapping the MSer. It’s sort of the feeling anyone experiences after sitting on one foot too long, only to find it’s numb upon standing up. Then it tingles, perhaps painfully.

But MS pins and needles are sudden and unexpected and virtually inexplicable. It’s a thorny symptom of this wacky neurological disease.
